About Us

History of OMC

Old Man Creek Bull Farm’s journey began in 2008 with the management of Willowlee, evolving through holistic management practices and innovative farming techniques. Over the years, OMC has grown from its initial herd to become a respected breeder, hosting significant sales and overcoming challenges like drought. By focusing on quality and strategic breeding, OMC has established itself as a leader in grass-fed bulls, culminating in the return to private treaty sales in 2024 with a robust offering of 30 bulls.

I purchased an OMC bull to join my heifers, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. All the heifers calved successfully with ease, and I highly recommend OMC for their exceptional bulls.

I had heard about the Pharo Cattle philosophy and thought it would align well with our breeding goals, so I attended the Southern Assessment Day in 2022. It was my first time witnessing this process and I was impressed with the rigorous assessment of each bull. On the back of this, I purchased four bulls at the 2022 Southern Sale. It has to be noted that the bulls were held behind a single strand of polywire and were happy for buyers to wander amongst them, a testament to their temperament and handling. Once delivered home, the bulls went straight out with the cows and went about their business with no injury nor breakdown. If you are looking for naturally raised bulls then I can definitely recommend OMC. - Nick Austin, Mundarlo Pastoral

We had full confidence in the OMC program for the fact that the cow herd is pushed hard, and not pampered like 99% of the studs out there. Structure is taken seriously and verified independently which I think should be a basic requirement to register them. We’d rather the culls fall out of the studs herd and not ours. The yearling bulls we bought have since done multiple joinings and never missed a beat with no feeding or pampering.
